Some days can be very hectic, and yesterday was one of them. While going about handling business related work, attending meetings and in between all of that, sorting out my Ph.D. work, I was caught up with the whole hustle of the day that I lost track of time.
Just when I was driving home from work, I received a call from my daughter which made my day and rekindled my hope in humanity.
As we were having our Daddy-daughter talk, she shared with me about her intention to visit the orphanage and share with them some gifts.
My daughter: Daddy today the school said that tomorrow we are going to the orphanage to see people that see people that their mother and father….
My daughter: So me(sic) I thought to give them snacks
Myself: Ok… Tomorrow is Saint Valentine’s Day…
My daughter: yes
Myself: When I get back home I will tell you the story of Saint Valentine.
My daughter: I want to go and see people that their mother and father are not alive and show them love.
Myself: How do you show them love?
My daughter: By sharing…
This 7minutes call made my day. Listen to the full audio call below.
Even though I do not fully subscribe to setting aside only one day to show love; as I believe that love should be shared every single day, this day (valentine day) can serve as a reminder to us that life is about sharing.
Sharing our gifts, talents, time, money and anything that is within our capacity.
As you spend this day, remember that the whole essence of this day is to SHARE.
