After my facebook live session last Friday, I have received a lot of feedbacks, with most people asking for more clarifications on my statement that vision is the most important element every individual and especially entrepreneur must have. As a result, I decided to do this article.
All human beings have one thing peculiar to their growth process and that is failure.
Failure is a big and vital part of life, and it a very important part of success!
Every great mind who have triumphed in their area of professional or interests have failed or have been rejected at some points of their lives, either because they made huge mistakes or were seen as incapable. What drives you in such times, what keeps you moving even when you just failed or have just been rejected? The answer is simple – VISION. That’s what keeps you going, because it makes you resilient and rugged. Apart from this, there are other reasons why having a vision is critical to your success.
Vision builds motivation and keeps it alive. It’s like the oil that keeps the engine running, it boosts you, powers you up and when you get to a point where you feel you can’t go on, and trust me you will get there, it will be your vision that steers up the fire in you to push harder, drive strategically and overcoming all forces that would want to stray you away.
Whether in your personal or business life, you need to have vision to exist at your greatest capacity. It motivates you to keep walking even if where you stand presently is dark, you see the light and that’s all you need to see to move now.
So as an entrepreneur, if you start your business simply because you want to make profits, that is not a strong enough vision. Your business will not stand the test of time if all you want to pursue is money.
You need to know exactly what you want. You need to be definite, clear, detailed and precise about your vision such that you are able to envision it in your mind. It is that picture you create in your head that builds the passion to keep going, coming up with ideas, values, strategies that would take you steps closer daily to your vision.
Vision guides and gives direction. Do not limit yourself, a vision is supposed to be big, don’t be pessimistic about it, be positive and work consciously to actualizing it. For every decision you make and action you take think how they could affect your personal or business vision; are they taking you closer to your vision or another decision that works for just now.
You need to be able to communicate your vision clearly. This way you are able to get people to invest into bringing your vision to reality. When people understand your vision, they also have clarity on what they should and can do to help you . Whether you are working alone or with a team it is important that there is clarity and understanding for the sake of the success of the business.
If there is any advice I want to leave with you. I will recommend that you decide what exactly you want, where you want to be, go big with it, don’t think small. Ask yourself, where do you want your business to be 10 years from now? What would you want to have achieved 10 years from now for your business, your personal life.
Your vision should give your life, business purpose and meaning.
In my next article, I will shed light on how to create a vision that will inspire you every day. To get notification when I post it, do subscribe to my email list and you will be sure to be amongst the first persons to get it.
